Medical Centre is based in the heart of Paignton. It is a
practice which has grown over the years from a small
intimate medical practice to a partnership of six doctors
providing general medical services to over 10,500
registered patients and 500 holidaymakers every year.
Through our skill mix, use of rotas, and our building we
have retained much of the personal service of any smaller
practice, but with the advantages of a group approach.
Each Doctor provides a full range of maternity,
contraceptive, minor surgery and child development
assessments. All new patients on joining the practice
will be encouraged to attend for a health check as part
of our programme of continuing health promotion, and we
will need to know vaccination records of all children on
joining. Mayfield is an 'Advanced Access' Practice, which means that providing you ring us by 2pm you can be seen by a Doctor the same day (Please see the important information under 'Practice Information' ('Opening Times') regarding this), avoiding the need for you having to pre-book an appointment in advance. We do however operate a limited pre-booking system for follow-up and routine appointments, and our reception staff will be pleased to assist you with arranging these. Appointments – An Important Note Mayfield Medical Centre will always try to accommodate its patients’ needs and will be, from 12th July, offering additional appointments for those patients who are genuinely unable to attend the surgery during our normal hours. If you are in this position, please inform the receptionist and give your details and the GP will contact you to make alternative arrangements.
